“Bold stories. Second chances. Black women leading the lens.”

Black Women in Production Inc. (BWIP) is a Black women-led nonprofit expanding access and career pathways in film and media production.

We support emerging and second-career storytellers through mentorship, skill-building, and hands-on production experiences—creating space for Black women to step into the industry with confidence, clarity, and real opportunity.

In an industry where access is often limited, BWIP exists to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity. Our work is rooted in community, collaboration, and a commitment to making the creative process more visible, sustainable, and accessible.

Through our programs and initiatives including storytelling and media projects—we create pathways for Black women to develop their voice, gain experience, and build lasting careers in film.

We believe storytelling is more than creative expression, it is a tool for visibility, ownership, and change. BWIP is committed to supporting Black women not only as participants in the industry, but as leaders shaping its future.

Filmmakers are innovators.
